Giraffe Center Day Tour

Giraffe Rothschild centre day tour is a brief day excursion from Nairobi to giraffe centre, a sanctuary exclusively dedicated to the endangered Rothschild giraffes. Originally established as a rehabilitation project by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife Kenya (AFEW), the Giraffe Centre is situated approximately 12.5 miles (20km) from the heart of Nairobi.

This remarkable center began its mission when only 120 Rothschild Giraffes remained in a Western Kenya ranch. Operated by AFEW, a conservation education NGO, the Giraffe Centre not only serves as a sanctuary but also actively promotes conservation education in schools. Through initiatives such as documentaries, inter-school contests, and the creation of educational materials, AFEW contributes significantly to the preservation of giraffes and their habitat.

One of the highlights of the Giraffe Centre experience is the opportunity to hand-feed the giraffes with provided pellets.
